Paraklesis Service for the Health of Fr. Antony - Friday, August 28
One thing we can all do for Fr. Antony is pray for his good health and speedy recovery. In that spirit, we will have an opportunity to do that as a community this FRIDAY, August 28, at 7pm. Fr. Ed Hughes will be serving a Paraklesis Service for Fr. Antony at St. Mary Church in Cambridge, MA. All are welcome. E-mail Charlie Marge (marge@alum.mit.edu) if you have any questions.
The Paraklesis is a service of supplication for the welfare of the living. It is addressed to a Saint, whose intercessions are sought through the chanting of a supplicatory canon and other hymns. The most popular Paraklesis Service is that in which the supplicatory canon and other hymns are addressed to the Most Holy Theotokos.
