Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Christ is Risen!
Greetings to all as we continue to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ. The message of the Resurrection is that God's love is stronger than death.
A stream has welled up, it has become a torrent...it has
Flooded the universe. (The Odes of Solomon)
But He has not forced himself on the world. Instead He took the path of Extreme Humility which is the true character of God. Not power, but weakness reveals the truth about God.
God has made no demands. His desire is for a voluntary response from us of love to Love ... from the depths of our longing to the depths of His infinite Compassion.
It is a lie, any talk of God that does not comfort you. (Meister Eckhart)
The Gospel is so simple we miss it. So amazing we cannot believe it. So beautiful we do not think ourselves worthy of it. But it is simple because God wants us to see it. Amazing because unlimited love is so unexpected. Beautiful because He is beautiful and He has created us beautiful. Only Beauty can save the world from what is not beautiful. And it has. Now.Today. The Day of Salvation.
Christ is Risen! Death is no more. The graves are open and "not one dead remains in the tomb" (St. John Chrysostom). Love has shown itself to be stronger than death, stronger than sin, stronger than evil no matter what form it takes.
All that is asked of us is this: to respond with love to Love. To awaken to the truth revealed in the Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are asked only to return His embrace and to remove everything in us that keeps us from it.
Christ is Risen! God is love! To say one is to say the other. To know one is to know the other. May His Light and Love flood your life and bring you peace.
